Improve content for newcomers to OpenMRS.org
How do you get started with OpenMRS? Well, this depends a lot on your interests and needs. Developers may want to know how to download, understand, or contribute to the code base. You may be running a clinic and wondering if OpenMRS can serve your needs; or you may have a similar system or a lab system and wonder how you might be able to interact with OpenMRS systems. In any case, if this is your first visit to OpenMRS.org, we'll try to help you get started on this page.
What is OpenMRS?
Check out our Overview page. We have a simple page of Frequently Asked Questions. You can also find several resources on the Community page on ways to interact with the OpenMRS community to get your questions answers.
Contributing to OpenMRS
If you are interested in contributing to the OpenMRS effort, there are several ways to help whether you're a developer, clinician, a writer, or have other skills. A good place to start in this case is our Contribute page.
Questions not answered here?
Documentation is always tough to create and keep current. If you have questions that aren't answered here, please feel free to reach members of the OpenMRS community through one of our mailing lists or through our IRC channel.
